PEEK Machining

PEEK is a high-performance thermoplastic with excellent strength, temperature resistance and chemical resistance, often used to replace metal in medical, semiconductor and aerospace parts.

Plastics We Machine

Plastic Key properties Typical uses
PEEK High temperature, chemical resistance, strength Semiconductor, medical, aerospace
POM (Delrin) Low friction, dimensional stability Gears, bushings, fixtures
ABS Tough, low cost Housings, prototypes
PC (Polycarbonate) Impact resistant, transparent Covers, lenses, guards
PTFE (Teflon) Very low friction, chemical resistance Seals, insulators
Nylon (PA6/PA66) Tough, wear resistant Wear parts, rollers

Machining Plastics

Plastics need sharp tools, controlled heat and careful fixturing to prevent deformation. Thin walls and tight tolerances should be reviewed during DFM.
